Daily Logistics
The logistics of our fishing adventure packages are simple. The Big Amazon Fish adventure starts the moment you step out of the plane in Manaus, Brazil and ends 7 - 8 days later at the same place it began. During those days, approximately 5 - 6 1/2 days are spent fishing and adventuring the Amazon's tributary rivers, and approximately one day is spent experiencing Amazon city life or relaxing in Manaus. Our adventure trips are as follows:
Arrival Day: We meet you at the Manaus, Brazil airport and fly you on a chartered plane or take you directly to a luxury houseboat, where you unload your gear, settle in, and have your first Brazilian meal on the top deck of the boat as you head onward into the vast tributaries of the Amazon rainforest. As the first day's sunny sky draws to an end, the boat continues travel through the night to get to our first adventure stop. Although we anticipate you resting after a long day's journey, we have amenities on the boat such as video entertainment, music, and games to suit your needs throughout the week. We believe that most customers will be interested in the Amazon's night sky, a wonderment of stars in vast darkness.
Fishing & Adventure Days: We take you fishing and adventuring on the tributaries of the Rio Negro, Rio Madeira, Rio Uatuma, Rio Jatapu, Rio Abacate, or Pantanal. For the anglers, we specialize in catching BIG PEACOCK BASS and other Amazon exotics such as payara, cachorra, black piranha, bicuda, catfish, and up to 15 other species of fish. For the eco-adventurer, there is no other engaging experience like the Amazon... Imagine yourself sitting on the front of a small river boat with binoculars around your neck, a fishing rod on your side, and a camera at arm's distance grasp. At any given moment and at every new bend in the river, you are only a second away from capturing your own Amazon experience - whether it's hearing monkeys call in the forest, seeing pink dolphins jump along side your boat, or seeing an eagle swoop out of the sky. Our eco-adventure activites include visiting native villages, observing animals and birds upclose, walking through the jungle, spot-lighting alligators in the night, and seeing the rainforest beauty like you've never seen before. In the intermediate time, we all eat much, entertain much, tell stories much, and sleep much. At the end of the final fishing or adventure day, we voyage back to Manaus (or location of chartered flight).
Last Day: We transport you to one of Manaus's finest hotels, either the Tropical Hotel or the Holiday Inn. After checking and settling in, if you desire, we give you the opportunity to tour different spots in Manaus - including the Port of Manaus, the zoo, Amazon Opera House, the Black River beach, and the local souvenir parks. We will also take you to some of Manaus's finest restaurants.
Departure Day: After a relaxing night in the hotel, you will enjoy a first class breakfast and then depart for the airport.
